    Jaime Fortunato A. Caringal

    Atty. Jaime Fortunato A. Caringal is the Assistant Secretary for Project Development and PPP of the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) of the Philippines. He obtained his Master of Laws degree from the Institute of Law and Finance of Johann Wolfgang Goethe Universitat in Germany. Carrying with him several years of experience in the fields of law and finance, Atty. Caringal has taught Project Finance in one of the leading law schools in the Philippines. Having worked in both private and government sectors, he has gained a unique and holistic perspective in approaching various legal, financial and commercial concerns thereby enabling him to efficiently spearhead the PPP projects of the DOTC.

    Guy Brazeau

    Since 1999, Guy Brazeau has held positions within IATA with worldwide responsibility at the director level in Consulting, Training and Business intelligence. Over the last 25 years, Mr. Brazeau has been active in the field of aviation in more than 45 countries. During this time, his international achievements also include the negotiation and/or execution of numerous innovative commercial and/or partnership agreements with major international aviation organizations.

    More recently, in addition to directing IATA’s consulting services, Guy has managed or contributed to civil aviation, airline and airport strategy management/infrastructure projects in Europe, the Caribbean, South America, Asia, Africa and Eastern Europe. Prior to joining IATA, Guy was Director, Central and Eastern Europe for the International Aviation Management Institute (IAMTI). Guy holds a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from the University of Ottawa and a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the École Nationale d’Administration Publique.

    Andy Carlisle

    Andy Carlisle is Managing Director of the LeighFisher EMEA Aviation Practice. He has over 20 years of experience in the airport and transport sector from both management consultancy and investment banking. He has a broad airport advisory background with specific experience in business planning, strategy development, management organisation and capacity simulation.

    He brings experience from around the world, having advised airport management, shareholders, and investors in assignments across Europe, the United States, Asia, and Australia. He has extensive transaction experience both as an advisor and also as part of an investor team from his time at Macquarie Airports.

At the same time, Mr. Ariturk is giving lectures in different leading Turkish Universities such as Istanbul Trade University and Sabahattin Zaim University.

    Anthony Smith

    Mr. Smith is a partner in the Infrastructure Development Group. He is a UK Qualified lawyer with over 20 years of practice and is a specialist in infrastructure, construction and PPP projects and has advised on many major projects in transport, health, education, defence, accommodation and energy in Europe, the Middle East, the Far East and Africa.

    He is a member of the UNECE Business Advisory Board, Head of the UN’s PPP Readiness Task Force (set up to give practical aid and advice to countries in their PPP implementation programmes), is an associate expert in PPP Capacity Building with the United Nations Development Programme. He has assisted the United Nations Economic and Social Commission in drafting its Transport PPP Guidance documentation and Co-authored the UNECE Guide to Promoting Good Governance in Public Private Partnerships. He has recently carried out feasibility studies for PPP implementation in Mongolia and Uzbekistan at the request of the Mongolian and Uzbek Governments and worked with USAID and the Mongolian State Property Committee to develop PPP Capacity and documentation as part of USAID’s Economic Policy Reform and Competitiveness Project. He has also worked on a World Bank Project for PPP training of Government Officials in PPP in India.

    Mr. Smith has lectured extensively on PPP related topics and has worked with UNDP, United Nations Economic and Social Commission Asia Pacific, U.N.E.C.E , the Moscow School of Economics, the World Bank, USAID, and Asia Development Bank in the Asia Pacific region and  Eastern Europe developing PPP Capacity Building and drafting standard guidance and contract documentation.

    Gianfranco Lupidi

    Gianfranco Lupidi is Sales and Marketing Director at SITA Bureau Services, where he is a member of the SBS Executive Committee, heads support to the sales department, runs SBS Marketing and manages relationships with partners.

    Gianfranco joined SITA in 1999 as an Account Director for Alitalia and Sigma and has also enjoyed sales positions such as Territory Director and Government Sector Sales Director, before assuming his current role in 2014.

    Although Gianfranco began his career as a digital electronic designer, he has more than 23 years of experience in international sales. Before joining SITA, he was a sales manager for Italy’s mobile phone service company and an export manager for Italy’s oil company, among other positions.

    Gianfranco lives in Rome when he is not traveling.

    Gerald Panhoelzl is the Director of Business Development, Honeywell Airports Business. In this role, he is responsible for the strategic development of the organization, based on market trends. Gerald is also leading the technical sales team Honeywell Airports Business. He is a member of the Air Traffic Management Council and works on the integration of Air Traffic Management and Ground Traffic Management.

    During the last 15 years he gained extensive experience in various concepts and technologies within the aviation industry. His previous assignments have been with ICAO and Siemens Airports.

    He holds a Master Degree in Aviation Business from Danube University in Austria, an Engineering Degree in Electro-Techniques as well as an Airline Transport Pilot License.

    Mohammed Paracha is a banking lawyer based in Dubai and is also the Head of our Islamic finance practice for the Middle East and Africa.

    Mohammed specialises in Islamic financial and banking transactions and has a broad range of transactional experience. Mohammed’s main area of skills is with cross-border transactions where he advises clients across a broad range of asset classes and industry sectors.

    His transactions are predominantly asset related involving real estate, ships, aircraft and project assets or complex structured transactions in new markets where tax, legal and Shariah principles need to be navigated in order to deliver optimum returns to Islamic investors.

    Mohammed advised the sponsors TAV Havalimanlari Holding A.S, Saudi Oger Limited and Al Rajhi Holdings (the TIBAH Consortium) on the financing and construction of the US$1.2 billion expansion of Madinah Airport in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This is the first full PPP (Public Private Partnership) project in Saudi Arabia and one of the largest infrastructure projects in the Middle East in 2012.

    Mohammed trained and qualified with our practice and gained international recognition for his work as the sole legal member of the Bank of England’s committee on Islamic finance where he assisted the UK Government in establishing London as an international Islamic finance hub.

    Mohammed is recognised as a key individual by Chambers & Partners Legal Directory 2013, which comments ‘”He has a very good knowledge base, and is very intuitive and thoughtful in dealing with the Islamic banks and scholars.”
